Watch out for these hidden dangers
You might be wondering, how does posting a photo become something to worry about? But Tujibebe is here to tell you that we need to be cautious about what we post online because as technology becomes better and better, it also gets easier for people to find out all kinds of things about us from just one photo.
Let’s say you post a selfie of you and your friends in front of your school or your house. Anyone seeing the photo could find out where you attend a school or where you live. So they could potentially find you. If you have not turned off your “geo-location” settings (this is the setting that allows your phone to share information about where you are with sites or other services), they could even find out exactly where the photo was taken.
So we all need to be careful about the kind of pictures we take and the information we reveal about ourselves online. And just to be safe, it’s always better to turn off the location settings on the phones and social networks we use, like Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. And if we aren’t sure - it’s better not to post it.
Remember as you are having fun online it’s always better to be safe!
